wishes and rules

i wish i wasn't so guarded. that i didn't have a constant fear of being let down or being humiliated. it's something i've struggled with my entire life; i'm an open book and i wear my heart on my sleeve. As women we have a social expectation that society expects from us. we must always be proper and clean. our education should be far less important then learning various homemaking skills and when it comes to men never, i repeat never make the first move. but i wish it was socially exceptable to be able to text a boy first without the fear of feeling to "needy" or the fear of being called a slut. i wish we didn't have to play games. that i could just say "hey, i like you" and everything would go over great without seeming dessperate. my darling roommate and i were disscussing this topic and she handed me a book called "The Rules" it gaurentees that if you follow these rules you will have men drooling at your feet...but it's not as easy as it sounds.
